NaNoWriMo Resources

Although I'm not doing NaNo this year, I have written several posts on this blog about it. I am condensing them here on this, in case anyone wants hints from a semi-professional writer.

We all get bored at points in our story; here is a list to liven up any genre:
  • Include a strange weather phenomenon
  • Kill a charcter. It’s never too early to do that.
  • Give your main character a pet
  • Have your villian go on a mustache-drawing spree
  • Blow up a planet.
  • Have your characters cross a river or body of water
  • Find gold or precious jewels

An unusual word makes even the best readers pause and think-- here are some to add to your NaNo story.

quixotic |kwikˈsätik|adjectiveexceedingly idealisticunrealistic and impractical: a vast and perhaps quixotic project.
insubordinate |ˌinsəˈbôrdn-it|adjectivedefiant of authority; disobedient to orders: an insubordinate attitude.

kapellmeister |kəˈpelˌmīstər|nounthe leader or conductor of an orchestra or choir. Historical, a leader of a chamber ensemble of an orchestra attached to a German court.
hiatus |hīˈātəs|nounpause or gap in a sequence, series, or process: there was a brief hiatus in the war with France.

Chapters 1-43

I just realized that posting each individual chapter on this blog is pretty stupid. So, here is the link to read the entire book (all 40000 words) on Wattpad for free. You don't have to sign in or sign up for it, it's just there if you would like to read it.

In Case Anyone Thought I Disappeared...

I am not dead.
This blog has been sort of neglected by me for almost six months... whoops. I sort of forgot about it, honestly. But I didn't die or disappear or get sucked into a black hole. In case anyone was wondering. Anyway, now that I have remembered that I actually have a blog, I will start back writing on my blog. And if you are wondering, I will finish posting my Harry Potter fanfiction, then get back to my regular-random posting. (Oxymoron right there, people)
Bye for now, hopefully not forever.
